Raymond Island, situated in the Gippsland Lakes is accessible from Paynesville by a three minute ride on a car ferry crossing McMillan Straights.

Quoted as “the best place to see Koalas in the world “. Raymond Island has a large koala population. Visitors may find some koalas in manna or red gum trees only a short distance from the ferry.
Many families enjoy cycling or walking along the various roads and tracks, while the BBQ and playground facilities near the ferry provide pleasant relaxation.
There is a koala information board near the BBQ .

A variety of boating,  accommodation and dining facilities enable visitors to share the peace and tranquility of  the unique island environment.
