Q:     Does the dog ever bite Muggins?

A:     Maggie has never bitten Muggins – however Muggins very often gives Maggie a peck or tries to pull her hair out.  If he gets too rough, Maggie gives him a shove, but she has never snapped at him

Q:     How old are they?

A:     Maggie is 3 years old and Muggins is about to turn 1.

Q:     Can the magpie fly?

A:     Muggins can fly with the best of them – we would never have allowed such close contact in the first place unless Muggins could get away from Maggie whenever he wanted.

Q:     Do they live on the Island?

A:     Yes, in Sixth Avenue.  Muggins has made friends with all our immediate neighbours and often drops in to see them and give them a song.

Q:     Does the Magpie come and go?

A:     Since he could fly, Muggins has been free to come and go as he wishes.  He is most certainly not a “pet” magpie.

Q:     How do you know Muggins is a male?

A:     Truthfully?  We don’t – we’re guessing.  It will be some time yet before we know for sure.

Q:     Does the magpie rely on you to feed him?

A:     We give him a bit of mince several times a day when he asks for it, but we are only supplementing his natural diet of insects and worms.

Q:     If they share food, could you show us that please?

A:     When Maggie is eating her bone, quite often Muggins will ‘help’ – we haven’t caught that on video yet, but we’ll keep trying!
