Gerry and Barbara Van Maanen
Gerry and Barbara Van Maanen have lived on Raymond Island for over 11 years.
Both are involved in Island activities and can ALWAYS be relied upon to offer their time willingly.
Both Gerry and Barbara were involved as volunteers with the Ferry Park project. Gerry did some hard yakka when the Koala trail was being built, helped with building the BBQ shelter, and he was also one of the mainstays, during the 2010 painting of our Community Hall.
Both were committee members of the Gippsland Lakes Y.C. and have won many sailing trophies over the years.
There would not be many social functions on the island that the Van Maanens do not attend. Not only that, but they are always ready to give a helping hand. They are also involved in the Ulysses motorbike toy-run
Until recently both were committed volunteers working for “ Sailability “. Now after five years Barbara is giving it a rest, but Gerry continues.
The aim of Sailability is to introduce people of all ages and abilities to the joys of sailing in a straightforward, fun, inexpensive way in a supportive environment
