That should have been the end of the story.

                                NO!

My tenants discovered Leaper and gave him a good looking over and not knowing him, decided that it was me. My friend too had a scar and a damaged ear. That was good enough for the humans.
Reports have it that they were very sad, the smaller of the two humans, the one with the long hair even shed a few tears. They buried “me“ with tears in their eyes and told each other how much they would miss me. They sent emails to their friends, who in turn forwarded them to other islanders.
I did not have a clue all this was happening.
So the next day I was having my Grandad nap on the foreshore when I heard an almighty yell. They found me. They told their friends that they were so convinced that they had buried me that they were tempted to have a dig around the burial plot to see if I had “escaped “ . I hadn't even been dead three days.

This is just to advise all you humans that I am alive and well and, as the saying goes:

“The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.”

Cheers
Scarface
“The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.”
You will not believe what has happened here.
Most of you know me of course, but to those humans who have logged on to my web pages for the first time, let me introduce myself:
My name is Scarface; I am a mature, good looking, highly respected kangaroo. Many of the kangaroos you humans enjoy seeing on the Island are direct
descendents of mine.
I have reached an age where I wanted a sea change and decided to retire to my property on the north-east side of our Island.
Suffice to say that my place is well cared for by the humans who are my tenants. They and that sloppy dog of theirs are good creatures and I have become quite used to them.
BUT all this has had a traumatic turn of events.
A friend of many years standing, “Leaper“, a very shy member of my fraternity, so shy that my tenants had never even seen him and did not know he existed, poor Leaper had not been feeling well lately and sadly decided to visit me for one last time before departing this world.
We said our “goodbyes “ and he made it as far as the large paddock at the back of my property where he lay down and peacefully went to sleep.
