Social:
*Due to lack of interest our Winter Progressive Dinner was cancelled.  Maybe we can hold this in spring when not so cold.
*Morning Teas were also cancelled over the colder months.  The next Morning Tea is to be held on Sept. 19th with a theme of “Island Access Bake-Off”.  See latest RIM for details.
*The Princess Hat Night was well attended in June.  Further theme nights will be advised.
*            Happy Hour 5pm - 7pm Friday 30th Sep “Bad Taste Parade” and sausage sizzle. BYO drinks and nibbles and dress badly. Prizes will be awarded.

Communications :
A member on ABC radio Tuesday am to speak about RIM.

Grants & Projects :
*The Coast Care Project has been officially completed and the required audit and report issued to the lending body.
* Some additional work is still outstanding however costs relating to this work are either covered or are negligible.  Works outstanding consist of:
1.Some fencing works requested by property owners. Materials on hand.
2.Tree planting.  Trees have been received and arrangements made with “Work for the                                   Dole” people to do the planting in the next 3 weeks.
3.Some advisory signs to be installed.  Waiting on Parks Victoria.
4.Toilet installation to be completed.  Not part of this project. Waiting on Parks Vic.
* Any costs will be neglibigle.  We have a $1,300 slush fund to cover any costs incurred.

Hall:
Activities
Tuesday Tai Chi to resume on 6th Sep after a two-month recess.
Numbers at the other Tai Chi sessions have increased.
There is room for additional people at Friday’s Yoga class.
Chrissie Abbott is the new contact for those interested in Carpet Bowls.
R.I. Table Tennis would welcome new players. Contact Brian Joshua or Ralph Middleton.
Maintenance
Two globes were replaced in outside security lights.
A member is researching sound-deadening material for interior.
Hall Sub Committee to meet with Jack Holbrook to discuss hall charges, contents insurance and hall acoustics and make recommendations for members’ consideration at October meeting.
Emergency Preparedness: Debrief on “near flood “ event will be held on 20th September. SMS glitch was not the fault of those sending the message. The service provider sent the message to some mobile phone owners and held over 100 others until the following morning.

Flora & Fauna : The Raymond Island Spider Orchid is in flower. Andrew Bould will show interested individuals or small groups.

Bike Rack - on hold until Shire Council decides on work to be undertaken to fire-proof hall.
. CFA shed - no information at this stage
. RICA  July/August recess - only two objections. Majority in favour of retaining this for 2012
