An Islander apologises

On reading our story about Judy’s garden,
husband John made the following reply:
Re: Judy’s Garden
by John Martin
Your website published a story of my wonderful wife’s garden recently.
After viewing the story I realise how selfish I have been. I have taken the story on board and will try to address the wrong I have been guilty of. I will give up my golfing, most of my fishing and cut back on my bowling so I can spend a lot more time in the garden helping Judy as much as I can.
I want to thank the editor of the website in being so discreet and just keeping my selfishness within our community.
Thank you and please forgive,
John Martin
Some new photos have been found, see below.
The original story
This is in recognition of the hard work Judy Martin has done to create a wonderful landmark at the corner facing the ferry ramp.
All of us have seen Judy slave over many weeks, if not months, to build a truly spectacular garden.
Her husband John is the first to applaud her achievement: “I thank Judy so much. It has allowed me to go fishing, sailing and bowling every day "
