This has taken quite a bit of time.
Some months ago a lot of slashing was done and trees were planted, but during the wetter that normal season the bracken got away from us and we are poisoning and slashing. Once we have some sort of control over the bracken we will plant mannas again. The whole process will take longer than anticipated.
One of the great discoveries we have made is that where we slashed, undergrowth is prolific. That is a heartening sight.
Where we now poison we put buckets over the young plants to protect them. We are using “ Brush-off “and wearing protective gear.

The six photos below reflect recent activity. We decided that many of the four year old manna gums needed staking.  The slashing was done by two volunteers ( one so old that he only volunteered providing he could sit on the mower/slasher ,nicknamed 'Predator' )
About 50 mannas have been planted. There is still enough cleared area for another 20 to 30. Then some more slashing needs to be done.
