As you can see here is a young koala that decided to view his world from the top of a pile. What a different way to spend the day. All this was observed by Les and Barbara Davis. Barbara is familiar with handling koalas and helps DSE whenever they come to the island. Before they could activate a rescue plan the youngster decided to get back the same way he arrived in the first place: swim. Much to the Davis’s concern he looked as though he wouldn’t make it and might possibly drown. Les, the good Samaritan, got ready to go into the water and help him along. He gave Barbara his wallet, phone, keys etc, and was ready to enter the water when the koala seemed to get a second wind and made it ashore without their help. He hung around for a little while, to catch his breath so to speak and went on his way as if nothing had happened.
