This is probably the only photo of this furphy in existence

A photo of the first Raymond Island "fire truck".  It consisted of an old car chassis with a trailer coupling at the front,  and a 44 Gallon drum on chains at the back. David thinks it started it s life in the late 40 s.It used to be housed at Billy Brown s place ( he was the fire officer ) Billy would lend it to people so they could replenish their water supplies from a water tower near the old ferry landing ( now our launching ramp ) David does not think that the furphy was ever used " in anger " , but he could be wrong.
The 1903 hand operated punt was used to transport livestock and goods
