Funding Body: Gippsland Community Recovery Fund
Project Objectives: To facilitate methods for improving the dissemination of information to residents
To enhance local community communication
To provide a forum for members of the community to share ideas and information
Coast Care Grant
Funding Body: Caring for our Country, Community Coastcare
Project objectives: To enhance the protection of a large portion of the RAMSAR listed foreshore reserve on Raymond Island through
· controlling access to the foreshore by the use of fencing and vehicle barriers
· the erection of advisory and interpretive signs
· the removal of environmental weeds
· planting of appropriate indigenous plants on the foreshore and the protection of some of the remaining Manna Gums in areas adjacent to the foreshore
· the production and distribution of educational material that will provide guidance on how and why it is important to care for the foreshore
