Last drinks at “Wine Justice”
The 30th June saw John and Rhondda Fisher’s last night as proprietors of the Wine Justice wine bar, after 5 ˝ years at the helm. Many Islanders braved the cold to farewell the Fishers, and to enjoy a night of music provided by a wide array of local musicians, including Islanders Iris Langley and Stewie Hughes.
This was a fitting tribute to the Fishers, who have been instrumental (so to speak) in bringing the live music scene to life in Paynesville.
New owners, Geoff and Sandy Sheppard, have renamed the business, stubbornly calling it ‘The Paynesville Wine Bar’ and ignoring our suggestion that it be officially known as ‘The Raymond Island Ferry Waiting Room’.
We wish John and Rhondda well in whatever challenge they take on next.
