The sun was shining and the band was playing
Most of us had a remarkable Easter Sunday. It was the day our own local band “This Time Round “entertained us for over two hours in the grounds of the Community Hall.
It was a fun filed musical Easterfest. The band consisted of four Islanders, Iris Langley, Terry Eskdale, John Wilson and Mark Brennan who in turn recruited mainlanders John Zimmer, Max Hodder and Derrick Nutall. Their music was easy on the ear and almost all of us stayed for the whole performance. One of the highlights was to see young children dancing to the tunes.
It was wonderful to see so many locals and their friends having a relaxing time. The numbers were difficult to judge. Although most stayed for the whole session, many came and went. We think our estimate of one hundred and sixty visitors is not unreasonable.
RICA organised this event.
Kate McKinnon, Jack Pearce, Alan & Ros Hurst, Cathy & Jack Holbrook, Natalie Roberts, Norris May, Maggie & Peter Jones, Jan Hughes and Jill & Peter J. were on duty.
The Social committee has learned a lot form this function and we know that
next time round if “This Time Round “ will grace us with another session, we will do it even better.
Easterfest.
