Joseph ( Joe ) Driscoll
Joe Driscoll was born in London in 1920 of Irish parents from Cork. His family arrived in Australia in 1923
He saw active service from 1939 to 1945.
Studied art at RMIT under VIC GREENHALGH and ALLAN WARREN.
Also studied under GEORGE BELL 1955 - 1962 (at his home).
Joe Driscoll is represented in private collections in Australia, USA and New Zeala
Formerly Joe was a tutor at Bayside , Frankston TAFE
He produced 100’s of paintings over the years , many of them painted in East Gippsland.
His themes vary from portraits to landscapes and seascapes to etchings and watercolours.
In 1959 Joe and his wife Mary and their family bought land on the Island, built a house and spend all their holidays here
His son Anthony ( Tony ) settled on the Island permanently in 1988.
Joe Driscoll has graciously given us permission to display photographs of a number of his paintings. All the land scapes in the paintings shown here are familiar to us. ( How many can you pick )
