Collision with the ferry
It had to happen sooner or later !
A large houseboat was travelling very slowly across our stationary ferry on the Paynesville side. Something appeared to go wrong  and ‘BANG “ it finished up hitting the ferry’s bow ramp .

There were a number of ferry passengers who watched the approaching houseboat and kept telling each other “It’s going to hit us!!! “ It sure did. Was it to slow ? Or underpowered ?  Too much wind ? No doubt the authorities will  establish  the reasons

Our water police were called and assisted by removing the eyesore from the ferry.

Julie Butt from Eagle Point, on her way to visiting the Island, had her camera ready, also Flemming Rasmussen, an Islander, both have forwarded some photos. We thank them for their much appreciated contributions.

p.s : Ian Lewis , our ferry contractor, was on the scene within minutes, contacted the appropriate authorities, he and his staff guided all cars off the ferry, then all passengers, then supervised the rescue mission, and a short time  later the ferry crew resumed service as if nothing had happened.
Thank you Ian, Staff and Police.
