When the ferry is unable to take all waiting vehicles on a scheduled trip, it will return immediately to collect those waiting. The same will apply in the case where a vehicle, such as a gas tanker, has to be transported individually.
Ambulance protocol

If you need to order the ambulance there is NO need to alert the Ferry.....
The ambulance will contact the ferry to make the transporting arrangements  ...........              ( anytime, day or night )

The same protocol applies to: Police/Fire/SES

NO need to alert the ferry. They will do so
