Chains that pull the ferry

There are chains that drop an anchor, hold a crane, or pull a car
There are chains that lock a gate, drive a bike from near to far
There are chains that you are smoking and chains you wear in gaol
There are chains that link the letters that are sent to you by mail

Most chains are made in China; and some in Germany
None of them are made here by blokes like you and me
No matter where they come from remember this is true
Without those chains we're stuck here wondering what to do .
