A burning landmark
In about 1991-2  two men from Paynesville went to Lakes Entrance and bought an old salvaged boat called BLUE DOLPHIN ( we believe it was built in Tasmania ). They stripped it of its machinery, winches and whatever else was saleable.

Then a local called John Marriott ,who ran a water taxi in this area, bought its  " remains " from them and dragged  it onto “ Wilson’s land “; part of that land is where the Frecheville family now have their house.

John had a vision of restoring BLUE DOLPHIN it to its former glory. For whatever reasons it was a dream that never came true.

About 1997-8 John was given a deadline by the Wilsons to remove the boat from their land. He was told if the boat was not removed by then it would be burned. That’s exactly what happened and what had become a landmark was no more .
